INTESOL Journal

The INTESOL JOURNAL (ITJ) is a professional journal published by the Indiana Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (INTESOL). ITJ encourages the submission of previously unpublished articles on topics of significance to individuals concerned with the teaching of language.

INTESOL is proud to present the Indiana Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages Journal, Volume 15, Issue 1, 2018. The volume includes original research as well as book reviews.  Research topics include multiliteracy practices among bilingual families, Korean textbook’s interpretations of English and American contexts and high stakes testing of English proficiency within higher education settings.  Two book reviews conclude the issue. The cover of this issue features the artwork of Mariem Bouabid of Valparaiso High School in Valparaiso, Indiana. Mariem is also one of the featured winners of the 2018 ELL K-12 Student Art Award.

INTESOL is proud to present the Indiana Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages Journal, Volume 14 (2017). The theme for this issue, as well as the 2017 INTESOL Conference, is Advocacy and Action in an Age of Uncertainty. Topics include English in Afghanistan, translingual practices, effects of assessment on writing discourse, social emotional learning, and the Every Student Succeeds Act. The cover of this issue features the artwork of Lin Latt of East Allen University in East Allen Schools in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Lin is the winner of the 2017 ELL K-12 Student Art Award.
